Japan is home to craft coffee. It is almost impossible to find bad coffee in that country. China, although a close neighbor, does not share the same endless string of delicious coffee shops. In all of Beijing, there are only a hand full of shops offering pour overs and only one in the neighborhood in which I was staying. This coffee spot was High Altitude (HA) Coffee.
HA Coffee is a small coffee shop that you will almost miss just passing by along the street. Once inside, there are a few assortments of coffee roasting to choose from, that is of course if you can read Chinese! Luckily, another shop patron spoke English and translated a bit between myself and the barista. In the end, I was given a delicious cup of joe that was much needed after days of sugar laden espressos. If you are in Beijing, make sure to stop by HA Coffee!
